Using NewsModerly

NewsModerly helps you organise, personalise and understand news coverage. You can follow interests, filter subjects you do not want, save and dismiss stories, read concise overviews and open the original publisher source.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

Your free month and subscription

The current launch offer gives you one month of NewsModerly free of charge. Before the trial ends, the service will show the date on which paid billing starts.

If you do not cancel during the free month, your subscription converts to £1.99 per month and renews monthly until you cancel.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time.

If you cancel during the free month, no subscription charge is taken. If you cancel after paid billing has started, the subscription will not renew again and you can continue using paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.

We do not charge a cancellation fee. A paid monthly period is not normally refunded simply because you cancel part-way through it. If we charge you incorrectly, we will refund the incorrect charge. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Payments

Payments are handled by our secure payment provider. NewsModerly does not receive or store your full payment card number.

We receive only the subscription information needed to know whether your account is active, renewed, cancelled or has a payment problem.

Your account

Please keep your login details secure and use NewsModerly lawfully. Do not try to interfere with the service, access another user's account, misuse automated access, or use NewsModerly to break the law.

If you believe someone else has accessed your account, contact us and we will help you secure it.

Summaries, AI and original reporting

NewsModerly uses technology, including AI, to help organise, group and summarise reporting so you can understand stories more quickly.

Summaries are condensed from source reporting. News develops, details change and a short overview cannot contain every nuance, so the publisher's original article remains the source of record for exact wording, evidence and the latest update.

That is why NewsModerly keeps the original source one tap away.

Publishers and their content

Publishers keep the rights to their journalism, photographs, brands and other material. NewsModerly does not claim ownership of the underlying reporting and does not remove publisher paywalls or access controls.

Keeping the service running

We work to keep NewsModerly current and available. News sources, internet services and third-party infrastructure can occasionally change or become unavailable, so a particular story, source or feature can sometimes be temporarily unavailable.

If something is not working as expected, please tell us through Contact & Support.

If the price or these terms change

We will not change the price of a period you have already paid for. If the subscription price changes, we will tell affected subscribers before the new price is charged so they can decide whether to continue.

If we make a material change to these terms, we will update this page and communicate it where appropriate.

Cooling-off periods and local consumer rights

NewsModerly can be used by customers in different countries, and consumer-protection rules are not identical everywhere.

Our standard policy is simple: the first month is free, the subscription is £1.99 per month after that, you can cancel at any time, and there is no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops the next renewal. A paid month is not normally refunded simply because it has already started.

If the mandatory consumer law that applies to you gives you an additional cooling-off, cancellation or refund right, that right still applies. These terms do not take it away.
